Until the end of the year I’ll be posting book reviews both here and on my school website.

The Sweetest Dark

If it wasn’t enough to have a tragic childhood, Lora Jones also hears voices and music from precious gems. When chosen as a charity case to attend a girl’s school, Lora makes both friends and enemies immediately. She is drawn to Jesse, who fully understands her secrets but also feels a connection to Armand, the son of her patron.

The prologue of this book had me hooked right away. In fact, I had to pick up the phone to share it with someone because it was so amazing. If you are a fan of fantasy this is a must read! Set in the 1900s, the story is an interesting mix of magic and reality.

Recommended Ages: Grades 8-Up
Genre: Fantasy (with a historical slant)
Overall Opinion: LOVED it! Can’t wait for the next book!
